Debit Card Rental Policy
Budget Car and Truck Rental accepts Visa and Master Card Debit cards as valid methods of payment for security deposit and rental of cars and trucks. This decision has been made as a courtesy to our valued customers. Budget will place a debit hold on your account for the estimated amount of the rental with a minimum deposit hold of $200. While this hold is in effect, these funds will no longer be available for use.
- Late returns and contract extensions will automatically be charged to the debit card.
- When the vehicle is returned, Budget will process a reversal of any unused portion of the debit hold. Depending on your bank’s procedures, this transaction could require up to two weeks to be posted to your account. Please check with your financial institution for their related policies. Unfortunately, Budget cannot expedite the release of the hold, and funds will not be available for your use until your bank processes the release. Budget will not be responsible for any returned checks due to credit holds.
- Budget will not be responsible for any issues, regardless of fault, which may arise with the renter’s checking account and the use of the debit card for a vehicle rental. These issues include, but are not limited to the following, insufficient funds in the account, overdraft fees, late fees and other such penalties.
